Eleven cases of H1N1 flu have been confirmed by testing since the state last updated its numbers on June 5, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services reported Friday. That increases the total confirmed cases in Nebraska to 71. The state noted that there are six more probable cases, too.
The confirmed cases include four in Saline County, two each in Douglas and Platte Counties, and one each in Colfax, Sarpy and Madison Counties.
The Iowa Department of Public Health no longer requires physicians to test patients with H1N1 symptoms because the outbreak proved less severe than originally feared. Consequently, the state has stopped updating its case counts.
