A 17-year-old Council Bluffs girl was injured Monday on Lake Manawa after bumping her head against that of another jet ski passenger.
She remained at Jennie Edmundson Hospital late Monday, according to a hospital spokesman, but her condition was not released.
The girl, identified in an Iowa Department of Natural Resources press release as Kristen Gerhardt, was injured shortly before 3 p.m., when she and two others on the jet ski were thrown off after the watercraft made a sharp turn.
The jet ski operator was listed as another Council Bluffs teenager — a girl, also 17. A young man, 19, was the other passenger.
The circumstances that led to Gerhardt's injury remain under investigation by Iowa authorities. No arrests or citations were announced.
