Arkansas second baseman Bo Bigham

Accessorizing: Razorback revels in the spotlight

« CWS

Arkansas second baseman Bo Bigham has a knack for grabbing attention.

Whether it's his jacked-up maroon socks, wristbanded forearms or the back flips he performs before the Razorbacks take the diamond, Bigham does what he thinks will look good and help him produce for his squad.

When Bigham started wearing wristbands on his arms, his folks didn't like it much, but he didn't let their chagrin stop him.

The middle infielder wears an Easton-brand sweat absorber on his left forearm, a Razorback one on his right. “I wear them a little bit for the sweat,” he said. “But mostly just for the looks.”

When the second baseman removes the bands from his tanned arms during the summer months, the tan lines serve as a reminder of his passion for the game.

“You just look at them and laugh,” Bigham said. “At least if you've got tan lines you know you've been playing.”

As one of a few Hogs who don knee-high socks, Bigham said it's a trend he's been sporting since taking cuts as a little leaguer.

“I've always worn my pants up,” he said. “I really feel uncomfortable when I wear my pants down.

“It's a comfortability thing.”
