Six mature gardens will be featured on the ninth annual Bellevue Garden Club Garden Walk. The homeowners and their gardens are: Joanne and Bob Langabee, 507 N. Third St.; Julie and John Petr, 2304 Lloyd St.; Lori and Doug Kehm, 2308 Lloyd St.; Julie and Steve Wrigley, 2911 Lynnwood Drive; Janice Valentour, 2605 Nottingham Drive; and Lorraine and Dick Purdum, 13310 S. 26th Ave. Bellevue East High School, 1401 High School Drive, also has a tropical garden on the tour. Vendors will set up plant and yard art booths at all the homes except Langabees’ and Petrs’. Hours are 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. A $1 donation will be requested at each address for those age 16 and older. Proceeds will go to Bellevue beautification.

Explore Omaha’s colorful past by taking a River City history tour presented by the Durham Museum.
The tour begins in the 1860s with stories and trolley travel through the old Third Ward.
The tour dates and hours are: 9:30 a.m. Saturday; 4 p.m. (dinner) July 12; 6 p.m. July 28; 4 p.m. (dinner) Aug. 9; and 6 p.m. Sept. 22.

Cost is $10 for Durham members and $15 for nonmembers. Dinner tours are $40 for members and $45 for nonmembers.

Finke Gardens and Nursery, 500 N. 66th St. in Lincoln, will present another installment in its first-time gardeners series. Fall Gardens is the topic of a workshop at 7 p.m. Fall is an often-overlooked time to garden. Produce planted for fall harvest can stretch the budget and the growing season.
