Horticulture experts and master gardeners have all learned the hard way with a plant ot two. These are among the plants mentioned as invasive or thuggish. When you consider these plants, “be careful what you wish for,” said gardener Amy Smith.
Evening primrose (not the yellow primrose).
Obedient plant (is anything but obedient).
White yarrow (some yarrow cultivars aren’t invasive; this one is).
Creeping buttercup or ranunculus reptans (like anything that can be a groundcover, they can be invasive).
Campanula (spreads by underground roots)
Yellow loosestrife (lysimachia punctata) and purple loosestrife (of the two, purple loosestrive is a noxious weed).
