HASTINGS, Neb. (AP) — A 20-year-old Ogallala man has pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge stemming from a fatal November crash.
Thomas Knott entered his plea Tuesday in Adams County District Court. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to drop other charges, including one for drunken driving.
Police said Knott was drunk Nov. 7 when he ran a stop sign in Hastings and crashed into a car driven by 22-year-old Jose Ramirez. Ramirez died at the scene.
Knott’s sentencing is set for Sept. 14.
