What: Celebration of the 100th birthday of Mutual of Omaha. Free admission at all sites. Free entertainment. Free refreshments at some sites while they last.
When: Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to approximately 10:30 p.m.
Where: Omaha’s arts and entertainment venues, downtown and near downtown.
Weather: Activities on Friday will go on, rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, many activities will be moved indoors. Free admission to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo will be offered rain or shine on Saturday. If the Omaha Royals game is canceled on Saturday evening because of weather, all free tickets will be honored for general admission seating in designated areas on Aug. 29.
Friday parking and shuttle service: There will be limited free parking at each venue. Read signs so you don’t get a parking ticket or get towed. Some pay lots will be open in the downtown area. Traffic will be heavy, so plan accordingly. Free trolley and bus service operates between entertainment sites on Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday parking and shuttle service: Additional free parking lots within walking distance of Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and for the Omaha Royals game at Rosenblatt Stadium will be open. Supplemental free parking will be available at Southroads Mall, 1001 Fort Crook Road North, Bellevue. Free round-trip shuttle service will be provided from the east parking lot of the mall to Henry Doorly Zoo and Rosenblatt Stadium; hours are 8 a.m. until one hour after the conclusion of the fireworks.
Tickets for the Omaha Royals game: Today is the deadline to pick up a free ticket voucher at Hy-Vee Supermarkets or Mutual of Omaha banks. A limited supply of free tickets also will be available in front of Rosenblatt Stadium, at the Mutual of Omaha tent, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
