D. Wade is in the house

NBA player Dwyane Wade is expected to be in town for Native Omaha Days.

Club promoter James “Boomer” Mills has posted a videocast and audio of Wade telling fans he'll be here.

“Omaha, what's up? This is your boy D. Wade. I will be in town July 31st through August 2nd for Native Omaha Days. ... Oh, and Go Big Red.”

Wade's schedule is as follows:

He'll hang out Friday at the 94/95 Sports Grille, 17857 Pierce Plaza. The 21-and-older dance party starts at 8 p.m. A strict dress code will be enforced. The kitchen will be open all night. CrowdRocka's DJs will provide music. Cover is $20. VIP admission, $40, includes no wait at the door and seating near Wade. Information: www.9495sportsgrille.com or 402-208-6444.

He's hosting a celebrity basketball game Saturday at Omaha North High, 4410 N. 36th St., where he'll play at halftime against five locals who win a raffle. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Tipoff starts at 4:45 p.m. CrowdRocka DJ Mista Soull will spin jams.

Some former Bellevue University, Creighton and Nebraska players — including Arthur Boults, Bruce Chubick, Cameron Lollar, Karl White, Nedu Onyeuku, Alvin Mitchell and Eric Warfield — will compete in the charity basketball game.

General admission is $20, and reserved seating is $35. The rates are subject to change the day of the show. The charity basketball game will benefit 100 Black Men, Girls Inc. and the Boys & Girls Clubs. Information: 402-208-6444 or 402-677-9496.

Tim Clark, president of the 100 Black Men, advises fans to get their tickets early. Omaha North has limited seating; capacity is 2,400.

“Dwyane Wade really is bringing the heat,” Clark said. “He has a big surprise for fans.”

Clark hinted toward more player interaction than what people think.

“It's going to be fantastic!” he said.

Get tickets to the game at Da Shop, 3017 Ames Ave.; LeFlore's New Look Fashion, 1806 N. 24th St.; Little's Mini Mart, 2202 N. 16th St.; and Felicia's Beauty & Barber, 4802 Northwest Radial. You can also buy them at ticketomaha.com or by calling 402-345-0606.

Later that night, Wade will be at the Omaha Keno King, 6553 Ames Ave., to pour back drinks with actress Gabrielle Union and BET's Terrance J. The 9 p.m. social will feature a full kitchen until 12:45 p.m., pool tables, darts and old-school R&B music. In a second room, hip-hop will be played. A strict dress code will be enforced.
