A 23-year-old Omaha man will be charged today with felony child abuse in connection with an infant's critical injuries, authorities said.
Matthew K. Arnold was arrested Monday after authorities found a 4-month-old girl not breathing in a home in the 3000 block of Ernst St.
The infant was transported to Immanuel Hospital. A police spokesman said she is in critical but stable condition.
Jim Masteller, a Douglas County prosecutor, said Arnold will be charged today with child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, a felony. If convicted, Arnold could face up to 20 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
