A man barricaded himself inside a Waterloo home late Saturday after an assault had been reported at the residence, according to 911 dispatch reports.
Authorities were called to 23703 Cedar Drive about 11:30 p.m. on a report that a woman had been assaulted. The woman was taken by ambulance to Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. Her condition was not considered life threatening.
Waterloo police and Douglas County sheriff's deputies remained outside the home early today. A negotiator was called in to help. There was a report that a gunshot had been heard within the home. — Susan Szalewski
