COUNCIL BLUFFS — Three southwest Iowa men have been cited for destruction of property at the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, and a fourth man has been charged with interfering with police officers.
A witness reported that four men used poles to break out lights along the sidewalk early Monday and attempted to break more lights on the bridge.
Council Bluffs officers located the suspects crossing the bridge and attempted to stop them. William Vogl, 20, of Neola, was charged with interference with official acts after allegedly resisting attempts by officers to detain him. Officers used a Taser on Vogl and handcuffed him.
Three other men — Jacob Osbon, 18, of Neola; Darrel Clingenpeel, 20, of Council Bluffs; and John Dea, 17, of Minden — were cited and released by Omaha police for destruction of property and theft.
Police said the exact damage amounts were still being determined.
