Danish museum talk
Joy Ibsen will talk about her recently published book, “Unafraid,” at 7 p.m. Monday at the Danish Immigrant Museum in Elk Horn, Iowa.
The book was co-written by her late father, Harald Ibsen, who was pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimballton, Iowa, from 1942 until 1948.
The public also is invited to a Thursday workshop on genealogical resources in the Copenhagen, Denmark, area. The workshop will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Family History and Genealogy Center in Elk Horn.

Anti-drug speech
The former head of the New York City office of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration will give a free speech from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Bob Stutman, will talk to parents about drug and alcohol abuse and prevention at Millard West High School, 5710 S. 176th Ave.
Preparedness course
Disaster preparedness and emergency response will be taught in a free course offered by the Eastern Nebraska Community Emergency Response Team, a member of Nebraska Citizen Corp.
The three-day training course will be Aug. 28 through Aug. 30 at the Omaha Public Safety Training Center, 11616 Rainwood Road. Times will be 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 28, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 29 and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 30.
