Story line: After scoring eight runs on 13 hits to win the opener, the Royals were held scoreless through the first six innings in the nightcap of the doubleheader. The split, an 8-3 Royals' victory and 4-2 loss to Oklahoma City, snapped Omaha's four-game winning streak.
Stars of the game: Cory Aldridge homered twice in the opener, Irving Falu went a combined 5 for 7 and Mario Lisson led the Royals with four RBIs on the day.
Alex Gordon watch: The former Husker started the first game at third base, going 0 for 4, and was the designated hitter in game two, going 0 for 1 with a walk and a hit by pitch. Gordon is now 4 for 15 (.278) with an RBI and four runs in four games since being optioned to Omaha.
Up next: The fourth game of the series is tonight at 7:05. Omaha lefty Mike O'Connor (1-1, 4.88 ERA) will face right-hander Kris Benson (3-3, 5.91).
