Omahans won't be seeing anymore of Regis and Kelly -- at least in the next few days. KMTV pulled the show from its lineup. Other Omaha stations could put the show back on the air, though.

Omaha viewers looking for Regis and Kelly now are out of luck.

KMTV, Channel 3 in Omaha, pulled “Live with Regis and Kelly” from its morning lineup today after failing to negotiate a new contract with the program, said Willie Garrett, programming and promotions manager for the station. Instead, the CBS affiliate is airing “3rd Rock from the Sun” from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and “B. Smith with Style” from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The station is working on a long-term replacement for “Regis & Kelly” in that time slot, but Garrett couldn't yet reveal what that would be.

Garrett also couldn't give particulars about why negotiations stalled with “Live with Regis and Kelly.” He said there is a chance that another Omaha station could work out a deal with the show and begin airing it.

But the final credits have rolled for “Regis and Kelly” on KMTV.

“We won't be showing it anymore,” Garrett said, “but we're working on something very, very big to fill that slot.”
