KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Ethan Finlay scored both Creighton goals, but it was former Bluejay Michael Kraus who scored the game-winning goal in the Creighton men's soccer team's 4-2 loss to the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer in an exhibition on Monday.
Creighton fell to 1-1-0 in the exhibition season.
Kraus, a Bluejay from 2003 to '06 and a 2007 Wizards draft pick, knocked in a header from about seven yards out to put Kansas City up 3-2.
With the Bluejays pressing for the equalizer, Kansas City took advantage, scoring on a late corner kick set up from a counterattack. Kevin Souter's corner found Aaron Hohlbein for the final goal of the match.
