White House rep at Neb. rally

LINCOLN (AP) — An official in President Obama’s administration is in Nebraska tonight to help pressure the state’s congressional delegates to support health-care reform.

Officials with AARP Nebraska said that Nick Rathod, associate director of intergovernmental affairs at the White House, will be the keynote speaker at the rally to be held at 6 p.m. on the west side of the Nebraska Capitol. Rathod is from Nebraska and his family lives in Hastings.

The rally is being organized by AARP Nebraska.

State Sens. Jeremy Nordquist of Omaha and Amanda McGill of Lincoln were also scheduled to speak at the rally.
