Creighton goalie Alicia Montgomery earned her second straight defensive player of the week award and Brittney Neumann earned the offensive honor from the Missouri Valley Conference on Monday.
Neumann had an eight-point game, including three goals and two assists, in an 8-0 win over South Dakota. Montgomery picked up her third shutout in a 3-0 win over Missouri-Kansas City on Sunday. She has yet to allow a goal.
“She’s had to come up big in just about every game,’’ coach Bruce Erickson said. “She’s off to a very good start.’’
He’s also happy with the Bluejays’ 3-0-1 record heading into today’s 4 p.m. game at North Dakota State.
“We’d like to win every game, but all in all we have two road wins and we haven’t conceded a goal yet, that part we’re pretty happy with,’’ he said. “I like where we are at.’’
