FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Danny Woodhead is back with the Jets.
The small and shifty running back was signed to New York's practice squad Tuesday, two days after being cut. The Jets released fullback Jehuu Caulcrick to make room on the eight-man unit.
Earlier Tuesday, the Jets signed free-agent linebacker Ryan Fowler and waived fullback Jason Davis.
Woodhead made the Jets' initial 53-man roster Saturday, but he was waived the following day. He surprisingly went unclaimed and unsigned, and coach Rex Ryan brought him back.
The former NCAA career rushing leader from Chadron State, a fan favorite, ran for 158 yards and two touchdowns in the preseason finale against Philadelphia. Woodhead spent last season on injured reserve after injuring a knee in training camp with the Jets.
Vikings tackles will be able to play
MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Vikings defensive tackles Kevin and Pat Williams will be able to play in the season opener at Cleveland this weekend, regardless of what happens with their court case against the NFL.
The Williamses, who are not related, are challenging four-game suspensions handed down by the league for violating the league's drug policy last summer.
The case is still tied up in court, but NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Tuesday the suspensions will not begin this weekend in any event.
Seymour still no-show in Oakland
ALAMEDA, Calif. — Richard Seymour failed to report to Oakland for a second straight day Tuesday after being traded from the New England Patriots.
“I really have nothing to report on that,” Raiders coach Tom Cable said. “Nothing has changed at this point.”
Seymour, a five-time Pro Bowl defensive end, was acquired from the Patriots on Sunday in exchange for Oakland's first-round draft pick in 2011. The move was on the NFL's official transactions list, and Seymour is on the Raiders' roster on their Web site.
Cable reiterated that he is hoping Seymour will play for the Raiders but declined to discuss reports the sides were in talks on a new contract.

• Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton practiced for the first time since slicing open his right index finger nine days earlier.
His status for Sunday's game is still to be determined.

Quinn appeared in court Tuesday morning and was released on a personal recognizance bond. A trial was set for January.

Seau would consider returning to Pats
NEW YORK — Junior Seau would consider returning to the Patriots if they again come calling.
The 40-year-old linebacker told the Associated Press on Tuesday he would sign only with New England because of his familiarity with the team. He's willing to play up to six games — any more would cut too much into his time with his children.
Seau came out of retirement for the second time last December to play four games for the injury-depleted Patriots. This time, he didn't make any announcements about his football future.
“I've learned not to say ‘retirement,'” he said.
