PERU, Neb. — Peru State College will induct Bert Swenson, Kevin “Bud” Frohling and Orivell “Ab” Yocum into its athletic hall of fame.
A banquet honoring the inductees will begin at 6 p.m. Friday in the PSC Student Center, and the trio will be honored during halftime of the Bobcats' football game against Sterling College on Saturday.
Swenson, who will be honored posthumously, was a standout in football, basketball and baseball, and graduated from Peru State in 1909.
Frohling is the only national champion wrestler in Peru State history. Yocum, also honored posthumously, earned all-conference honors in football, basketball and track during the 1940s.
