Couple killed in Valentine crash

VALENTINE (AP) - A couple from Center was killed following a nearly head-on accident Friday afternoon, authorities said Saturday morning.

Paul Crosley, 62, died Friday at the scene of the 2:30 p.m. accident. His wife, Eloise “Jean” Crosley, 64, was flown by medical helicopter to Sioux Falls, S.D., where she later died, authorities said.

A spokeswoman for the Nebraska State Patrol said the accident occurred on Highway 20 west of Valentine in the Kilgore area.

Crosley and his wife were driving west in a Ford Mustang on Highway 20 when they were struck by an eastbound Lincoln Town Car driven by 59-year-old Clifton Jones of Bellevue, which had crossed the center line, the patrol said.

Jones was taken by medical helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney in critical condition, the patrol said. A passenger in his vehicle, Reginald Robinson of Lincoln, 64, was transported to the Cherry County Hospital with minor injuries, the patrol said.

Everyone in both vehicles was wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
