LINCOLN — Kuna, one of the 10-month-old twin Matschie's tree kangaroos born at the Lincoln Children's Zoo, has died.
Zoo officials said the kangaroo fell from a high perch in the exhibit Monday and hit his head on a lower branch. Kuna died Monday afternoon at Pitts Veterinary Hospital.
Kuna and Yopno received international attention when their birth was captured on video and posted on the zoo's Web site. The baby kangaroos were the first documented set of twins to the species. Milla and Noru are the parents.
