Turner Gill, Buffalo: Gill, the former NU star and current Buffalo head coach, saw his Bulls fall to Central Michigan 20-13. The game was held up for 39 minutes while the crowd was evacuated in the third quarter because of lightning. The Bulls fell to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the Mid-American Conference.
Frank Solich, Ohio: Solich, the former Nebraska head coach, and his Bobcats beat Bowling Green 44-37. Quarterback Theo Scott passed for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Ohio (3-2, 1-0).
