Crash victim identified

VALENTINE, Neb. (AP) — Cherry County Attorney Eric Scott says one person is dead following a single-vehicle crash in north-central Nebraska.

Scott says the crash occurred on U.S. Highway 20 between Crookston and Kilgore. The vehicle and body were discovered early Saturday.

A spokeswoman with the Nebraska State Patrol says according to a report provided by Cherry County authorities, the 34-year-old man killed in the crash was Bryan Janssen of Crookston.

Authorities said Janssen was eastbound about five miles east of Crookston when he drifted off the road, overcorrected, struck a post and rolled into a ditch. He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

It wasn’t immediately clear when the crash occurred.
