IOWA CITY, Iowa — Hand sanitizer is being installed in some Iowa City taxis in the hopes it will prevent the spread of H1N1 flu.
Yellow Cab of Iowa City on Monday announced that effective immediately its customers will be offered a squirt of hand sanitizer from a pump-action bottle. Company officials say customers can accept or decline the serving.
Yellow Cab accounts manager Roger Bradley says the company believes the offering hand sanitizer is an effective step in preventing the spread of the H1N1 virus. He added that no retail environment can be completely sterile, but his company wants to be proactive.
Bradley says drivers will also be using the sanitizer.
