2009 Court of honor

These 2009 Ak-Sar-Ben Court of Honor members were inducted Saturday night at the Ak Coronation Ball.

They represent the arts, business and industry, philanthropy and community service, and professions.

The selections are made by the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation.

THE ARTS:

Anne Thorne Weaver, Omaha

Weaver has provided support to a number of arts organizations in Omaha and Lincoln, including Opera Omaha, the Omaha Community Playhouse, the Durham Museum and the Museum of Nebraska Art.

BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY:

Alice M. Dittman, Lincoln

Alice Dittman, the former Alice Frampton, and her husband, Marcus W. Dittman, started a bank in Central City, Neb., in 1955. She was the first female bank president in the Omaha-Lincoln area.

PHILANTHROPY AND COMMUNITY SERVICE:

Phyllis and Delmer Toebben, Omaha

Phyllis Toebben's community service has included stints as president of the University Hospital Auxiliary, Meyer Children's Rehabilitation Institute and the Salvation Army Auxiliary. She has been a volunteer for the Omaha Symphony Showhouse, Clarkson Hospital, Joslyn Art Museum, Henry Doorly Zoo and Friends of the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

Del Toebben is a former president of the American Cancer Society and CHAD (Combined Health Agencies Drive) and has served on the boards of Concordia College and Nebraska Methodist College, and his church.

PROFESSIONS:

Dr. Kim Hoogeveen, Omaha

Dr. Hoogeveen started Quality Living Inc. in Omaha, a rehabilitation and residential care campus specializing in brain and spinal cord injuries.
