LOUP CITY, Neb. — A Grand Island man who has pleaded no contest to kidnapping is scheduled for sentencing next month.
Sherman County District Court records show that 23-year-old Christopher Mueller pleaded no contest earlier this month in exchange for having a weapons charge dropped. His sentencing is set for Nov. 6.
Authorities say that in April, Mueller and 19-year-old Lisa Punteney held a gun to a woman’s head, bound her hands and drove her to an area southeast of Loup City. Investigators say the woman was left tied to a tree. She later escaped.
Punteney has pleaded not guilty to kidnapping, weapons and terroristic threats charges. She faces trial Dec. 8.
