Show goes on in Rock County

WORLD-HERALD NEWS SERVICE

BASSETT, Neb. — There’s a name change, but the venue and schedule will be similar to the ranch expo staged at the Rock County Fairgrounds here the past 20 years.

Over the past several weeks, the decision was made to continue with the trade show that will now be known as the Sandhills Ranch Expo. The 2010 event is scheduled for June 16-17.

This move follows the recent decision by Gene and Dixie DeBolt of Newport, who led the Nebraska Ranch Expo the past 20 years, to move that event to Kearney.

The name of the event has been changed to the Nebraska Ranch & Home Expo, with the first edition planned for June 9-10.

Members of the new Sandhills Ranch Expo managing board include: Joe Andrews of Bassett, president; Keith Cosgrove of Long Pine, vice president; Gene Cosgrove of Long Pine, treasurer; and Jay Stewart of Newport, secretary.

The new Sandhills Ranch Expo board plans to give all 2009 Nebraska Ranch Expo exhibitors the opportunity to keep their lot or booth location for 2010. As in the past, admission will be free with attractions for all ages.
