Volleyball: Jays extend streak to 14 over SIU

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Creighton extended its winning streak against Southern Illinois to 14 with Saturday's 26-24, 19-25, 25-20, 25-21 road win.

Jessica Houts had a team-best 15 kills and served up all three of her aces in the fourth set to help the Bluejays improve to 7-12 overall and 4-5 in the Missouri Valley, good for a tie for fifth place.

Southern Illinois, which went 10-0 in preconference play, lost its fourth consecutive match to fall to 13-6 (3-6 MVC). The Bluejays' 14 straight wins is its longest run in program history against one opponent.

Allie Oelke (14 kills, 15 digs) and Megan Bober (42 assists, 12 digs) both had double-doubles, while Laurel Sanford had six kills and a career-high 12 blocks for the Jays, who return to action on Friday to host Illinois State at 7 p.m.
