Three-timers: 5 percent of Americans who have ever tied the knot have been married three times or more. The percentage of thrice-married is highest in Arkansas, 10 percent, and lowest in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts, 2 percent. Iowa’s rate is 5 percent. Nebraska’s is 4 percent for men, 5 percent for women.

Age at first marriage: Idahoans get married the youngest, at a median age of 25 for men and 24 for women. At the opposite end is the District of Columbia, 32 for men and 30 for women. In the middle are Nebraska (27 men, 25 women) and Iowa (27 men, 26 women).

Divorcees: Least likely to be currently divorced are men in New York and New Jersey, just 7 percent, and women in North Dakota, 8 percent. Nevada has the highest share of currently divorced men and women, 13 percent and 16 percent, respectively. Nebraska and Iowa are both 10 percent for men, 11 percent for women.
