Rainy weather and the heavy amount of leaves have delayed the City of Omaha's yard waste collections, city officials said tonight.
Some neighborhoods will not get their yard waste picked up today, said Marty Grate, a spokesman for the Public Works Department.
Deffenbaugh Industries, the city's contractor, will complete today's yard waste collections Friday morning, Grate said, then head into regular Friday collection areas.
Grate said if the Friday collection is not completed tomorrow, Deffenbaugh will work Saturday to get it done.
Any missed collections may be reported to the City’s Solid Waste Hotline, 444-5238, after 7 p.m. on the regularly scheduled collection day.
