    FOOTBALL

    Five things: Nebraska vs. Baylor

    FIVE THINGS WE LEARNED

    1

Opposing coaches will get headaches trying to construct a blocking scheme against this NU defensive front. Sophomore Jared Crick is the real deal.

    2

Nebraska's defensive backs still make mistakes, but they're not afraid to go after the football. Sometimes the results are positive. Sometimes they're not.

    3

Freshman Eric Martin is a wild child on special teams. He willingly embraces contact, even when traveling at full speed. That's rare.

    4

The strength of Ndamukong Suh continues to surprise people. His violent tackles often look so bad because nobody is that powerful.

    5

QB Cody Green, strong-armed and agile, has a lot of upside, but he needs to gain some experience so those freshman mistakes will disappear.

    * * *

FIVE THINGS WE STILL DON'T KNOW

    1

What happens when a freshman quarterback and his thin NU playbook meet Oklahoma's merciless defense?

    2

Where's TE Mike McNeill? It seems as if Nebraska isn't going out of its way to involve its junior tight end, despite his athleticism.

    3

Is confidence an issue on offense? The Huskers rode the emotional wave early, but as soon as the adrenaline wore off, the inconsistency returned.

    4

RB Roy Helu obviously isn't 100 percent. Nebraska will need more than just one guy to fill in as Helu tries to recover. Who will that be?

    5

Besides junior WR Niles Paul, does Green have a reliable receiver to target downfield? More than one player is needed to attack effectively.
