Voters head to polls Tuesday

Tuesday is Election Day in several southwest Iowa communities.

In Council Bluffs, voters will select a mayor and two members of the City Council. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Bluffs mayor candidates:
• Tom Hanafan, 62, incumbent, first elected mayor in 1988.
• Matt Hartfield, 26, small business owner.


Bluffs council candidates:
• Scott Belt, 52, owner of a property management business and a real estate agent. Incumbent, first elected in 2005.
• Melissa Head, 30, lawyer with the Army Corps of Engineers.
• Jay Kathol, 32, real estate agent.
• Scott Porter, 37, owner of small construction business.
