Millard back as Jays prepare for exhibition

Chad Millard made a limited return to Creighton’s basketball practice Monday.

The 6-foot-8 senior forward, sidelined the past five weeks with a foot injury, participated in some early drills and did some light running. He did not participate in any of the team’s scrimmage work, which took up most of Monday’s workout at Qwest Center Omaha.

The practice was Creighton’s next-to-last before it plays the first of two exhibitions games against Missouri Western at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday. Coach Dana Altman has never been particularly concerned about which five players he puts on the floor for the start of an exhibition game.

If I had to guess at this point, I’d say Antoine Young will start at the point, P’Allen Stinnett at off-guard, Kaleb Korver at wing, Justin Carter at power forward and Kenny Lawson at center. Rest assured, though, that all 13 scholarship players will get some time in an attempt to sort things out for the Nov. 14 opener at Dayton.
