Sen. seeks, gets Neb. budget ideas

LINCOLN (AP) — State Sen. Jeremy Nordquist of Omaha asked for feedback on Nebraskans' priorities for the state budget, and he's getting it.

Nordquist's staff created the Web site NebraskaBudget.com, and more than 1,200 submissions have been received in less than five days.

Nordquist said he was encouraged to see so many taxpayers getting involved in the budgeting process. He says the input is valuable.

The Web site asks Nebraskans to choose a top priority and share the biggest challenge their families face. Users also can submit additional comments about the budget.

Correspondence is sent to the Legislature's Appropriations Committee and Gov. Dave Heineman.
