Omaha police are investigating a shooting near 28th and Spaulding Streets that sent a man to the hospital Tuesday night with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in the leg.
Paramedics took the man, who is in his 20s, from a home in the area about 6:40 p.m. to the Nebraska Medical Center in serious condition as a trauma candidate. Police said they're searching for two men who ran north and east from the scene.
Police haven't released further details about the investigation, including the victim's name. The report of shots fired in the area drew assault rifle-wielding officers and a police helicopter to the to the area.
