James Ziebarth

Game and Parks chair resigns

By David Hendee
World-Herald Staff Writer

James Ziebarth of Wilcox, Neb., chairman of the Nebraska Game and Parks Board of Commissioners, has resigned to take a position with the U.S. Agriculture Department in Nebraska.

Ziebarth, a farmer, will serve on the Farm Service Agency's State Committee. USDA rules dictate that he must resign his seat with the commission.

"I have enjoyed the time I have spent with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the friends I have made along the way," said Ziebarth, who farms near Wilcox. "I am proud to have been a part of an agency that cares so deeply about wildlife, parks and conservation."

Ziebarth has sent his letter of resignation to Gov. Dave Heineman, who appointed him to the board in August 2004.

The Farm Service Agency provides many federal services to farmers, including subsidy payments, loans for beginning farmers and ranchers, conservation programs, dairy programs, emergency loans, crop disaster assistance and many others.
