The Nebraska-Oklahoma game Saturday at Memorial Stadium will feature a matchup of two semifinlists for the Chuck Bednarik Award, presented to the nation's top defensive player by the Maxwell Football Club.
Defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh of NU and Gerald McCoy of OU are among 16 candidates for the award.
Others include: linebacker Pat Angerer (Iowa); defensive back Eric Berry (Tennessee); linebacker Navorro Bowman (Penn State); defensive tackle Terrence Cody (Alabama); linebacker Rennie Curran (Georgia); defensive lineman Jerry Hughes (TCU); linebacker Greg Jones (Michigan State); defensive back Taylor Mays (Southern Cal); defensive lineman Von Miller (Texas A&M); linebacker Eric Norwood (South Carolina); defensive lineman Brian Price (UCLA); defensive lineman O'Brien Schofield (Wisconsin); linebacker Brandon Spikes (Florida).
The Bednarik Award will be presented Dec. 10 as part of the College Football Awards Show on ESPN.
