COUNCIL BLUFFS — No timetable has been established for when — or if — Iowa Gov. Chet Culver announces a re-election campaign, Lt. Gov. Patty Judge said Wednesday.
“I am assuming he will run,” Judge said while visiting Council Bluffs. “I think everyone in Iowa would be surprised if he doesn't run. We haven't set a timetable yet.”
Iowa voters go to the polls next November to select their governor. Culver, if he does run, would be seeking his second term. It's a job that at least five Republicans have so far expressed interest in.
Judge said her boss believes those candidates are running against each other, not against him.
“We welcome whichever candidate the Republicans decide,” she said. — World-Herald News Service
