Omaha will say its final farewell Saturday to the Rev. Leland “Lee” E. Lubbers.
A 10 a.m. memorial service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1715 Izard St. Lubbers was pastor there for many years.
He was 80 when he died of cancer June 27, 2008, and donated his body to Creighton University.
Lubbers, a Jesuit priest and artist, began the art departments at both CU and Creighton Prep. He also created the international television network Satellite Communications for Learning, known as SCOLA, in the 1980s on the CU campus.
