The big win Saturday over Oklahoma did nothing to hurt Nebraska's recruiting efforts. Just the opposite, actually, as NU added oral commitments from defensive tackle Jay Guy of Aldine, Texas, and defensive back Joshua Mitchell of Corona, Calif., according to rivals.com and scout.com.
Both players were in attendance for the Huskers' 10-3 win over OU.
Guy, 6-foot-1 and 300 pounds, held an impressive list of scholarship offers that inlcuded Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State and Missouri from the Big 12 in addition to Michigan, UCLA, Arizona, Cal, Ole Miss and Arkansas.
Mitchell, 5-11 and 165 pounds, is reportedly a speedster. He had already visited Colorado State, for which his brother plays cornerback as a freshman.
The pledges from Guy and Mitchell bring Nebraska's known total to 13 for the class of 2010.
