Ndamukong Suh has gotten more than his share of attention this season, and Jared Crick is starting to get his.
And it hasn't just come from outside the Nebraska program.
NU assistant coach Mike Ekeler praised the defensive tackles today at the Big Red Breakfast. Ekeler wasn't speaking only about Suh and Crick as the glue to the defense, but the example they set that he takes to his linebackers such as redshirt freshman Sean Fisher.
"If you really watch the film that we get a chance to watch up close and personal, and see how those two guys play,'' Ekeler said, "Crick spends half his time looking like Superman, chasing down plays and just diving. I've never seen a defensive lineman play like those guys.
"I was just pointing out to Fish, ‘Look at this guy, right now. If we can get you and everyone else to play as hard as these guys right here, you know how good we can be? How good we will be?' We'll get it done.''
Check the Big Red Today blog later for more from the Big Red Breakfast. We'll also have a story in today's Metro edition, with Ekeler's thoughts on senior linebacker Phillip Dillard, who's become the feel-good story of the 2009 season.
