A ceremony will recognize Veterans Day at the Strategic Air & Space Museum.
The event in the museum's atrium will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Public guided group tours will begin at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., guests can explore and touch items used by soldiers from 1818 to the present and investigate the mobility and significance of the robotic arm as it is used by astronauts.
In addition, the X-38 Crew Return Vehicle that recently traveled from the Johnson Space Center in Houston will be unveiled in its permanent home at the museum.

Regional food vendors will take center stage at the annual Nebraska Food Festival at the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island.
The festival will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and have plenty of Nebraska-flavored sights and smells.
An assortment of Nebraska-made foods will be available, including goods from the Village Pie Maker of Eustis, Big Red Popcorn of Schuyler and Sugar Plum Candies of Lincoln.
In addition, goodie bags will be handed out to the first 100 people in attendance, along with games and giveaways to keep folks entertained.
Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for children and free for Stuhr Museum members.

Nebraska Is Home Fremont will host a CommUNITY Dance from 6 p.m. to midnight at the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 22 headquarters, 2410 N. Colorado Ave., in Fremont. The event will recognize the city's unity through its many cultural traditions.
Authentic Mexican food will be served from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and volunteers will be on hand to teach dances, including the polka and Flying Dutchman, plus Latin rhythms such as salsa and merengue.
Nebraska Is Home Fremont is a volunteer community project offering positive opportunities for culturally diverse neighbors to meet one another through community events and small group conversations.
The Omaha and Lincoln library systems are celebrating National Gaming Day by having video games and board games available and inviting the public to bring their own to set up and play.
Participating Lincoln libraries include: Bennett Martin, 136 S. 14th St. (board games only), from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Eiseley, 1530 Superior St., noon to 2 p.m.; and the Walt branch, 6701 S. 14th St., from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
In Omaha, the Sorensen Library, 4808 Cass St., will offer board games from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; the Charles B. Washington Library, 2868 Ames Ave., will have video games beginning at 2 p.m.; and the Millard Library, 13214 Westwood Lane, will offer tweens video games and board games from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday
Harvest of Color, the fall orchid show presented by the Lincoln Orchid Society, will take place at Westfield Gateway Shopping Center, 61st and O Streets in Lincoln.
Flowering orchids will be on display and for sale along with other artwork and photography. There will also be demonstrations and raffles.
The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3. Children 14 and under are free.

Sunday marks the end of the Historical Society of Pottawattamie County's 2009 lecture series, wrapping up with a lecture by Sam Irwin, a former railroad special agent.
Irwin's lecture will focus on modern-day experiences in protecting people, property and cargo on trains. The 2 p.m. lecture will be at the RailsWest Museum, 16th Avenue and South Main Street in Council Bluffs.
Admission is free.

See birds of prey up close and help count flying raptors from high off the ground on the HawkWatch Tower at Hitchcock Nature Center's annual Hawk Watch Eagle Migration. The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Loess Hills Lodge at the Honey Creek, Iowa, nature center.
Hitchcock has been recognized as one of the top five hawk watches in the world for viewing migrating bald eagles.
The festival will also include live raptor demonstrations from Raptor Recovery Nebraska, activities for children, scheduled programs and refreshments. Cost is $3.
