2. Oklahoma State (8-2, 5-1)
Last week: Beat Texas Tech 24-17. Up next: Colorado on Thursday, 6:30 p.m., ESPN. If QB Zac Robinson is OK to play, the Cowboys can stay in the hunt for a BCS at-large bid.
3. Nebraska (7-3, 4-2)
Last week: Beat Kansas 31-17. Up next: Kansas State, 6:45 p.m., ESPN. After home losses to Texas Tech and Iowa State, nothing is a sure thing. But the Huskers seem to be playing their best ball overall.
4. Oklahoma (6-4, 4-2)
Last week: Beat Texas A&M 65-10. Up next: at Texas Tech, 11:30 a.m., FSN. In one week, Landry Jones went from throwing five interceptions against Nebraska to five touchdowns against Texas A&M.
5. Texas Tech (6-4, 3-3)
Last week: Lost to Oklahoma State 24-17. Up next: Oklahoma, 11:30 a.m., FSN. The Red Raiders have always played OU tough at home. Plus, the Sooners average 17 points on the road compared with 50 at home.
6. Kansas State (6-5, 4-3)
Last week: Lost to Missouri 38-12. Up next: at Nebraska, 6:45 p.m., ESPN. The Wildcats' magic carpet ride may be over. There were a lot of tired-looking long faces after the loss to Missouri.
7. Iowa State (6-5, 3-4)
Last week: Beat Colorado 17-10. Up next: at Missouri, 1 p.m., no TV. Bowl eligibility is one thing. Getting an actual bowl bid is another. One more win should cinch that for the Cyclones.
8. Missouri (6-4, 2-4)
Last week: Beat Kansas State 38-12. Up next: Iowa State, 1 p.m., no TV. The Tigers' two-year run as Big 12 North champs is over. That's what you get for losing at home to Baylor with a title on the line.
9. Texas A&M (5-5, 2-4)
Last week: Lost to Oklahoma 65-10. Up next: Baylor, 2:30 p.m., no TV. Losses while giving up 47, 62 and 65 points don't indicate that the Aggies are improving in Mike Sherman's second year.
10, Kansas (5-5, 1-5)
Last week: Lost to Nebraska 31-17. Up next: at Texas, 7 p.m., ABC. The “History Will Be Made'' slogan is true, just not in the way the Jayhawks expected. A sixth straight loss lies ahead, not a North title.
11. Baylor (4-6, 1-5)
Last week: Lost to Texas 47-14. Up next: at Texas A&M, 2:30 p.m., no TV. The Bears still have slim hopes of breaking their 15-year bowl drought. They must beat Texas A&M and Texas Tech, which isn't impossible.
12. Colorado (3-7, 2-4)
Last week: Lost to Iowa State 17-10. Up next: at Oklahoma State, 6:30 p.m., ESPN. The Buffs are 94th in scoring offense, 105th in total offense, 112th in rushing and 114th in passing.
