    Suh not worried about stats

Filed by Jon Nyatawa at 3:15 p.m.

Ndamukong Suh's never been one to stress over the statistics, but the senior defensive tackle isn't entirely pleased with his dropoff in production of late.

He's happy right now, mainly because his team's on a three-game winning streak and is one victory over K-State away from earning a North Division championship.

But Suh is striving to play better.

“Obviously I'm not playing up to my level in my personal opinion and I'm not producing as much,” he said. “But I don't have a problem with that as long as we're winning.”

Through Nebraska's first eight games, Suh averaged 6.1 total tackles per game and 1.6 tackles for loss.

He had four total tackles against Oklahoma and three against Kansas. None of those came behind the line of scrimmage.

“(I'm) seeing quite a bit of double teams,” Suh said. “I'm not having opportunities as I did earlier in the year to get after the ball.”

Actually, against the Jayhawks last weekend, Suh saw something in Kansas' scheme that he's never seen before.

On several running plays, Suh thought he was matched up one-on-one with an offensive guard. But a KU tight end or a fullback regularly shifted over late to help out.

“That is a different wrinkle, something that I haven't seen,” he said. “But (it's) something that I feel that we adjusted very well to.”

Suh was just one of three defenders named today to the 15-player watch list for the Walter Camp Football Foundation's player of the year award.
