Officials said 400 Norris Public Power District customers in were waiting for power as of 4 p.m. Tuesday -- most located in rural portions of Gage and southeastern Jefferson counties.
Work to restore power was to continue through Tuesday night, so customers currently without power were being urged to find another place to stay.
One day after heavy snow took down power lines, crews from five utilities worked under mostly sunny skies to restore electricity, said Andrea Schafer, spokeswoman for Norris Public Power District.
At the peak of the storm Monday, an estimated 6,200 Nebraska homes and businesses were without power. Most of the customers were served by Norris power.
Crews worked through much of the night Monday to restore power within towns. Work, however, was expected to progress more slowly on Tuesday because crews had to work house by house, rather than neighborhood by neighborhood.
