8 years in child porn case

A 24-year-old Omaha man was sentenced Monday to eight years in federal prison for receiving sexually explicit photos of two South Dakota girls, ages 13 and 15, the Office of U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg announced.

U.S. District Judge Laurie Smith Camp sentenced Joshua Gall for receiving child pornography between January 2008 and April 2008.

In October 2008, a police investigator in Mitchell, S.D., alerted the Nebraska State Patrol that two Mitchell-area girls had sent lascivious photographs to Gall’s cell phone, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

The 13-year-old had met Gall on the Internet and began sending the photos, which became progressively more risque, Gilg’s office said. The 15-year-old also admitted sending photos.

The Nebraska State Patrol obtained a warrant to search Gall’s home and found that he had forwarded the photos from his cell phone to his computer. He admitted receiving the sexually explicit pictures from the girls.

Gall also was sentenced to five years of supervised release after his prison term.
