Lennon painting stolen from home?

By Jason Kuiper
WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER

A 49-year-old Omaha man came home from a friend's house Sunday night to find someone had gotten into his house and taken a painting by John Lennon.

The man, who lives near 50th and Underwood Streets, left home Sunday afternoon. When he returned about 10 p.m., the piece of art was gone.

“Morning Coffee” was valued at $10,000, according to the police report. Before he was a member of the Beatles, Lennon studied at the Liverpool Art Institute.

The report didn't say how the thief entered the home.
