LINCOLN (AP) -- The State Patrol says heavy fog likely factored into a fatal crash in southeast Nebraska involving a semitrailer, a propane tanker and a car.
Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said the semitrailer driver died in the crash near Bruning that was reported around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Bruning is about 40 miles northwest of Beatrice.
Authorities haven't released the identities of anyone involved in the crash.
Collins said the propane tanker was eastbound on state Highway 4 when it tried to cross the northbound lane of U.S. Highway 81. A northbound semitrailer then struck the tanker broadside. A northbound car then struck the semitrailer.
She said the tanker driver wasn't injured. The driver of the car was taken to a Lincoln hospital with serious injuries.
