A 61-year-old Omaha man under house arrest died this morning, according to authorities from the Douglas County Department of Corrections.

Corrections officers received a phone call about 11:30 a.m. from a family member of Clarence Vaughn. Vaughn had been serving a 45-day house arrest sentence in his home for second-offense driving under the influence of alcohol.

A family member found Vaughn unresponsive about 9:15 a.m. A rescue squad was called and he was taken to Immanuel Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10 a.m.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s office is conducting an investigation as required by state law.
