LINCOLN — Gov. Dave Heineman intends to appoint Norris Marshall of Kearney to the board of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
Marshall would replace James Ziebarth of Wilcox, who resigned to serve on the state committee of the U.S. Agriculture Department’s Farm Service Agency.
Marshall and his wife Lori own Marshall Engines and are engaged in cow-calf production. They will host the Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska on their Platte River property near Kearney next year.
Marshall said he is an avid waterfowl hunter and student of the Platte River and endangered species. He said he looks forward to improving the quality of the state’s recreation opportunities.
“Nebraska is a great state with a lot of resources to offer,’’ he said.
